THE CHANGES THAT MAKES ME TICK

Dear Blog,

I promise to share more great insights with you at least once a week. I'm Sorry for mistreating you but I am glad to let you know I have been keeping up with some of the things I listed on my possessions for 2011.I have been keeping myself very busy and also in the process of launching a major project with my partners. To be frank, I am proud of the things I have accomplished so far. I need to pat myself on the back for keeping  things up. I told my self this year would be my year for positive change. And indeed I feel the change has begun already.

Yes, New Prisssyyyy in the house. Woot Woot!!

The sweet tingling feeling of change is unstoppable.

So I am trying to justify why i am so joyful today
Uhmm, let me guess. I think am happy because of the Victoria long weekend that's coming up

Hmmm or maybe it because of my two spontaneous trips creeping up on me.

Anyways, who care what's making me delightful. Either way I’m happy.

I was Pregnant with joy today. I was actually nice to everyone at work today, including my co-workers and the clients .So... One of my co-worker said I looked like a banana because I have been wearing yellow jacket for the past three day.

Silly, right?
Prissy banana??
Hell noo!!
I'm Prissy sunshine.
Shining through out the day.

Wow talk about change. Trust me, this change is good because it ticks me in the right places.

Hence, these are 3 little changes that made me tick this week :)

1) Every two weeks, I  rotate between inspirational books and fictional novels. This week, I decided to reread "Medea's uninhibited commentaries on love and life” by Tyler Perry .Trust me this book has been making me laugh to myself like crazy Medea.

2) For the past 3 months I have been wearing my nails natural and plain with no nail polish. But this week I painted my natural nails with fuchsia pink polish. Something fun and different. This is a big change for me, because I’ve been wearing fake nails for a while.

3)  As you may already know, I can never stop cutting my hair bald. It in my blood to wear short hair. However, I decided to wear long hair for a change. My choice of hair  this week is curly jerry curls (no stress to fix it).

I know these changes are not big changes but they are sufficient enough  for me to feel different. Little by little is all it takes for a major change in my life.

Dr. Dennis O'Grady, Once said "Change has a bad reputation in our society. But it isn't all bad — not by any means. In fact, change is necessary in life — to keep us moving ... to keep us growing ... to keep us interested. ... Imagine life without change. It would be static and boring and dull."

NO REGRETS

“I have learned that not everything you want in life is necessary good for you. Some people you meet in life entail evil spirit that contributes to your failures in life. It’s not a matter of yourself but it’s a matter of who you associate yourself with. I have learned to acclimatize myself in positive surroundings rather than negative surroundings because my association determines who I become in the future. Out with the old; in with the new. Yes Failure is not my portion” - by  Priscilla Birago

So...

The above has been my personal mission statement for the past year. I am constantly referring to this statement in my note pad to empower and motivate myself to work towards my goals in life.

This past week has been my reflection and meditation week; reflecting on the amazing works of God in my life. I am honestly losing counts of the blessings God has restored in my life. Moreover, I am pleased and happy at the direction things have been moving for me. I feel some sort of victory and peace within my heart because I know that I have won the race already.

During my reflection period, I also thought about the unpleasant things I engaged in the past. The foolish things I did when I was younger(not to say I'm old now ) but the wrong people I have associated myself with and the people I permitted to influence my thoughts and lifestyle. The people I once thought were part of my survival tool kit in this complex world, has surprisingly diminished.

From my perspective, I believe God works in seasons. Every season is a harvest time, where God provides me with new plans in my life.  And it’s up to me how I will execute the plans and yield tremendous results.

There are some seasons I allowed  certain individuals in  my  life that I thought I could not survive or succeed  without. Ironically, the moment the person is out of my life, I can see my self still standing firm, firmer than before. I can suddenly survive and strive for better resources.  I become stronger and stronger to tackle my next challenge.

I have learned not to dwell on irrational things, especially things that will distract me from serving my soul purpose in life because if certain individuals were relevant in my world, God would definitely permit/plant them in my life forever. I believe their moment was just a brief session; to fulfill certain plans God had for me. Their assignment was temporarily, to lead me into the next level in life.

It's inevitable that I can not avoid thinking about certain things I've done in the past and certain people I associated myself with. But I know my God is a forgiving and loving God. He will not lead me into the wilderness without his guidance and grace. SO...I write with boldness and confidence that I have no regrets because there is a reason for every season. And I believe that everything works together in the end for the good. Failure is not my portion because God is on my side.

There is no need to regret my past life because life goes on beyond my imagination

The Fairytale Wedding

Reports say that royal wedding cost the taxpayers 163 million dollars and the total royal wedding cost was about 50 billion dollars. Wow... I am absolutely in shock. 50billion dollars can possibly eliminate 100% poverty in Africa. God have mercy on us!

Presently, I am proclaiming celebration because I can obtain peace and mind again. It finally over! The wedding of the century is finally over! For the past four months, every television station had special shows pertaining to the royal wedding. As if I am gaining any potential benefit from this event.

People need a reality check. We need to realize that this wedding was not going to improve any aspects of our life but rather creating more wealth for the royal family.

I strongly believe that the media over sensationalize unworthy fixations that do not improve our economy but rather make it worse. Consequently, it creates a bigger gap between upper class and the lower class society. This is a representation of supremacy, where by the rich uses their power to dominate, construct and mend the world to their preference.

We have to face the fact, we are giving more credits to people that do not deserve it. Our taxpaying money is making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer. The media only pays attention to the upper class society and destroys the lower class society.  Ask yourself how many people would even hear or know about your wedding. You will be honoured to have two minutes of your wedding previewed on your local television station. The media would rather showcase statistics of black single parents or gangbangers that are murdered or in jail. It sad to say, but we are all just a number in this world.

I am still in disbelief at the amount of people that went out camping out for the royal wedding; wasting their precious time and their hard working money for the "wedding of the century." Since the wedding is over, we can all come back to reality. In other words, working more hours to earn the money lost, which means paying more taxes to advance prosperity within upper class society.

I pray for every African/black person that used their time and money to support the royal wedding. I believe they have been manipulated through the media to enslave themselves in the cold for many hours to make the royal family look more important them. They enslaved our people, stolen our gold, diamonds and many significant resources to make their country
rich. And here you are, standing behind a gated road/park, waving your flag like they would have noticed you.

If we had all the resources in Africa and was never taking away from us, do you think our family would move abroad for this so called "better life"? We are treating them like God, worshiping and praising them every day of our life. We should invest our time and money to praise/worship God and solving bigger problems in this world.

#Peace

"TILL DEATH DO US APART"

Dear Dairy
It has been a while since I shared my inner most thoughts with you. Work life has been diminishing my social life. I must admit, I have been thinking a lot about marriage recently.*BBM Confused face** I have become more aware of married couples, especially young couples lately. Is it because I have been watching a lot of marriage shows on TBS as of late? Ironically I spotted the cutest black couple today at union station while having lunch with my co-worker. Honesty, I could not keep my eyes off them, especially the way they were so cosy together in public.  My eyes were fixed like a camera, searching for the big thing on the young lady’s finger to validate my thoughts. YEAP! There is was the nice big platinum ring on her beautiful long finger.  I thought to myself, Gosh I can’t wait till that big day comes.  Walk down the aisle in a traditional dress and get the ring on my finger than I will anxiously say the five most beautiful words; “Till death do us apart”. Two seconds later after daydreaming, guess who called me?? ROGERS COMMUNICTIONS calling to remind me about my $300 bill. I wanted to take a walk to Lake Ontario and submerge in the water and never come out again. If I only knew what I was signing up for, I would have thought three hundred times before signing up for this lethal contract.
Honestly I have no idea why my mind has been on the idea of marriage these days.
Marriage in my own perspective is like signing up for a new contract with a cell phone company. Marriage is a contract between a man and wife however there are fine prints in the contracts that some individuals disregard or misinterpret before signing up. Prior to signing up for my Rogers' contract, I was mesmerized by the “wonderful” features that came along with blackberry. It sounded perfect and I wanted every bit of it to spice my life. I was thrilled to posses my new berry in the attractive box in my hands. I couldn’t wait to use the camera or the blackberry messenger. My 50 dollar bb plan was just right; exactly what I need for my budget. I was ready to sign my life way for my attractive bb phone because everything seemed faultless. And I did. I signed 3 years of my life to Rogers without reading the “gorgeous fine prints”. I was clueless as to how much headaches and stress I was going to attain from this contract. If I discontinue my service and break my contract, I face a penalty. If I decide to keep my services, I will be paying my dues for signing up with Rogers. On the other hand, if I read the fine prints before signing up for the contract, than I had less surprises. Nevertheless not everything is documented in a marriage contract because people change from time to time but as long as one understands the contract, one will acquire more knowledge to deal with issues in marriage. The lesson learned for me: marriage is such a wonderful thing; however I have to learn, explore and comprehend all the hidden prints in a marriage contracts before signing my life away.
P.S. Congratulations to all marriage couples that have made it pass the 10 years mark.  Hope God will continue to bless you and fill your cup with life!

_________________________________________________________
Above is Mr. Right’s resume, which consists of most of the qualities I expect in a man. Although I have all these attributes in mind, it does not imply that my future husband will depict all these virtues. It is possible to pray to God to grant us our heart desires however I don’t believe that he will provide us with the perfect man. I believe that he will present an important person that is close to perfection to test our ability to compromise.

I attended “The girl with a mess or the girl with the message” program this past weekend at my church. The topic of the program was “Mr Right or Mr Right now” and during the discussions, there were some interesting concerns and questions that most of the ladies inquired about. One of the important question that was raised was, how do we know Mr Right and is there more than one Mr Right for you??

I often question myself, if there is really a Mr Right or should I say Mr Perfect for every woman??
Just for the sake of argument, I will state that there is the perfect man for every woman. This denotes that every woman would have Mr Right for themselves and would not have to be concern about their man not being faithful. And since every woman has their perfect match no woman will have the desire to pursue someone’s man because they would be satisfy with what they have.

Hmmm wouldn’t that be golden?? Let’s face it, everyone hates cheaters.

Let me stop here for a moment to re-evaluate what I just said. SO...there is a perfect man for every woman, which means women are more likely to capture Mr Right that would fit their criteria.

WAIT  A MIN !!!!

How is there a perfect man for every woman when there are more women than men in this world? The ratio between men and women is 1 to 6 which can be interpreted as; for every man there are six women for them. This means that six women would be sharing one perfect man. Hmmm isn’t this interesting?

Personally I don’t believe in the idea of a perfect man. Because even if a man is faithful, they may lack some attributes in some areas such as communication and reliability. I believe in the idea of comprising and having an open mind in relationships. However every woman has their own opinions of what makes up a perfect man. I have my own list of the attribute that makes up Mr Right in my world but does that mean that I would find the perfect man that would meet my requirement?? No!!

We should evaluate our desires and identify if our desires are...
Must have, need to have or should have

Because if you are looking for 10 good qualities in your man but only attain 7 out of the 10 attributes, would that make him less of a man for you or Would you comprise to make your relationship work? I mean after all, 7 out of 10 is not bad. Right??!!!

Or

Do you feel like you will be settling down for less because you don’t like the idea of compromising??

Think about it!!
